The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Mississippi State
University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the
area of Biomedical Engineering. The Agricultural and Biological Engineering
Department offers a formal concentration in biomedical engineering at the
undergraduate level and advanced degrees (M.S. and Ph.D.) in Biomedical
Engineering. The individual will be expected to participate in establishing the
national/international reputation of the biomedical engineering programs in one
or more of the following areas: tissue engineering/biotechnology,
biomaterials/biomechanics, or biomedical modeling. Qualified candidates with
backgrounds in other areas of biomedical engineering may also be considered.
The individual will also be expected to participate in teaching in the
Biological/Biomedical Engineering curricula. The successful candidate should
have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or related field, a demonstrated record
of scholarship, and the potential to secure extramural funding to support an
active research program in one of the above-listed areas. The position will
be approximately 50% teaching and 50% research with a tenure-track, 9-month
appointment. Salary commensurate with training and experience. Review of
