I am an MSc student in Biomedical Engineering, and my project is looking at
the various implants used during fixation of calcaneal fractures, and
comparing the stresses on different shapes and materials using Finite
Element Analysis (ANSYS).
I have found quite a lot of material concerning surgical procedures etc.
but nothing comparing the different plates used. If anyone has any
experience of this, or knows of any articles on it, I would be very
grateful. Also, does anyone know of occasions when failures in these
plates have occurred, either during or after bone healing, and if anything
has been published on this.
I will post a summary of results that I recieve. Please let me know if you
do/do not want either your name or answer to be included.
Thanks for your help
