Lecturers in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering invites applications
for two fixed-term lectureship positions, as outlined below.
(1) Lecturer above/below the bar in Mechanical Engineering (1 Year
contract term)
The appointee will be required to lecture and supervise laboratories in
materials engineering, processing of polymers, instrumentation and to direct
industrially based undergraduate projects. Applicants with a background or
interest in the design and production of biomedical devices would be
particularly welcome. Candidates should preferably hold a Ph.D. degree in
an engineering discipline or have equivalent research or industrial
experience.
(2) Lecturer above/below the bar in Biomedical Engineering (1 Year
contract term)
The appointee will be required to lecture and supervise laboratories in
biomechanics, medical implant and device design, biomedical production
services and to direct industrially based undergraduate projects.
Candidates should preferably hold a Ph.D. degree in a biomedical engineering
discipline or in another engineering discipline with industrial or research
experience in biomedical engineering.
It is hoped that appointees will develop research projects or contribute to
ongoing research activities with other staff members in both mechanical and
biomedical engineering.
Salary: Lecturer above the bar: €51,545 x 4 = €68,209 p.a.
Lecturer below the bar: €32,632 x 10 = €46,279
p.a.
