    Job Description

    POSITION TITLE: EXTENSION ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
    JOB#: 2-128-04
    DEPARTMENT: Continuing Education
    MINIMUM SALARY: $Commensurate with credentials and experience, plus
    excellent benefits

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    The primary responsibility will be to direct the Continuing Education Time
    Enhanced Learning on-going Master of Education degree program in Health,
    Physical Education and Recreation. The individual will teach two graduate
    level courses per semester as well as have primary responsibility for all
    advising and administrative aspects of the degree program. The individual
    will also teach courses, as needed, at the Brigham City Continuing Education
    Center of Utah State University. This individual should be competent to
    teach research design courses and to serve as the major professor for
    graduate student programs.

    This is a nine-month tenure track position requiring approximately 50% for
    undergraduate and graduate (Master's level) instruction, 40% time for
    various administrative responsibilities, program recruitment, and
    advisement; and 10% for scholarship, research, and service.

    This position will be housed at the Brigham City Continuing Education Center
    located 25 miles from the Utah State University main campus in Logan, Utah.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Earned doctorate in physical education with an emphasis in exercise science.
    Candidates should have a significant background in the sport sciences.
    Candidates with an additional emphasis in pedagogy are preferred. Potential
    for scholarly productivity including research, grant writing and publication
    is preferred.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States

    Founded in 1888 as Utah 's land-grant institution, USU is a university with

    throughout Utah.
