  • Information on human knee

I'm trying to get information for a presentation on failure and aging
systems which is going to emphasize the knee as an evolved reliable and
efficient biological system. Can anyone suggest sources or information
about how the human knee has evolved to be a "highly efficient and
reliable" biomedical machine (barring traumatic injury or old age). I'm
looking for facts like the knee has a very low coefficient of friction.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
