NIH Supported Training Opportunities at the Cleveland Clinic

All candidates, as required by the grantor, must be U.S. Citizen or
non-citizen national admitted for permanent residence.
Two Full Time Graduate Student Positions.
1) One position is available for a start date of June 1, 2004 for an
existing student in 2nd or 3rd year with proven research success.
2) A second position is available for a new Ph.D. student starting
September 1, 2004 and running through August 31, 2005.
Criteria:
· Candidate for pre-doctoral research must have received a Bachelor’s
degree and be enrolled or prepared to enroll in a Ph.D. degree program
in the area of musculoskeletal research.
· Students enrolled in health-professional training programs willing to
interrupt their professional studies for a year or more to engage in
full-time research training and mentorship in an area related to
biomedical and musculoskeletal research.
· Trainees will apply for application to the graduate program of either
Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Biomedical Engineering,
or in Cleveland State University’s programs in Applied Biomedical
Engineering, or in Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences.
· Candidate will have success measured by independent research and
publications.
Two Full Time Postdoctoral Positions Available
1) One position is available for a start date of June 1, 2004.
2) A second position is available starting September 1, 2004 and running
through August 31, 2005.
Criteria:
· Postdoctoral research trainee who has received a Ph.D., D.V.M, D.D.S.,
M.D., or a comparable doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or
foreign institution.
· Relevant experience such as basic, clinical or industrial research,
teaching, internship, residency, clinical duties, or other time spent in
full time studies in a health-related field following the date of the
qualifying doctoral degree.
· Candidates will have success measured by publications and independent
research awards such as K, R01, R03 or R21 awards.
