Aspiring Sports Engineers and Researchers:

getting on top of the latest technological developments in the field of
sports engineering.

What is ISEA Summer School?
ISEA Summer School is an intensive one-week program in sports engineering
for university students, new researchers and practitioners. The program is
run by leading international researchers in this field from academia and
industry. The main topic areas of the program include:
* Sports Design and Innovation
* Sports Measurements and Instrumentation
* Sports Performance and Fitness Analysis
* Sports Materials and Manufacturing
During the course of the week, participants will take part in workshops,
attend lectures by speakers from major sports engineering research groups,
universities and industry, and in hands-on work on selected sports
engineering tasks and demonstrations. The week culminates with the
participants demonstrating the results of their work at the awards evening.
The program also includes a range of social activities including sporting
activities and organized tours in the Toscany region.
Who should apply?
ISEA invites all university students, new researchers and practitioners with
interest in sports engineering to apply. The program is geared towards those
that have some background in sports science, sports technology or
engineering.

The program fee is ยค700 for all participants, which covers the seven-day
summer school program with lecture notes and resource materials provided.

Where is the ISEA Summer School held in 2005?
In 2005 the ISEA Summer School will be held at the Monash University Prato
Centre in Toscany, which is in close proximity to Florence and to many
distinguished European and North American international university centres
which conduct undergraduate and research programs in and around Florence.
Prato is a small but thriving Tuscan city, with a beautiful historic centre
and a vibrant cultural and economic life. The city has a population of some
180,000 inhabitants and a rich historical and artistic patrimony. More
information about Prato and the region can be obtained from the Prato

Prato offers a large range of long and short term accommodation options.
Many of these are within walking distance of the Monash University Prato
Centre. As accommodation is not included in the program fee we advise you to
