Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for research into human motion/tracking in conjunction with the Bioengineering Research Team at APU and the Therapy Department of Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex. This is an exciting new joint collaboration between these institutions. The successful candidate will be employed by Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust but will spend a significant component of their time at the Bioengineering Lab of APU in Chelmsford.
The research aims to improve patient care and centres around either anterior knee pain or scapular instability in patients and will involve using motion tracking equipment in order to gather data from the movement of these joints.
The ideal candidate will have or will expect to gain at least a lower second class honours degree in either engineering, computing or mathematics in order to interpret the large amount of data produced from the research. Academic papers for journal publication will be expected.
The recipient will be expected to register for a higher degree with APU. The candidate will not be expected to pay the academic fees.
Interviews will be held on 2nd September 2004.
