Hi,
You may want to do some searching under 'developmental coordination
disorder' or 'motor control'. Motor planning is another term used often but
I have not been successful in finding research/data under that title. I am
not sure if you will find what you are looking for but these are current
areas of interest in the field of physical therapy at this time and do
encompass sequencing/rhythm.
Pediatrics and stroke rehab are two populations being worked with in
somewhat related studies that I know of to-date. In the area of pediatrics
I have seen research in the area of assessment mostly; in stroke rehab I
believe there is research going to assess the effectiveness of treatments in
the area of neural plasticity (creating new neural networks, formation of
new motor plans etc).
Good luck. Sorry I did not have specific studies for you.
