    MUSCULOSKELETAL RESEARCH CENTER
    DEPARTMENT OF BIOENGINEERING
    UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH
    Job Position: Engineer to perform Finite Element Modeling and Analysis
    Description of Position:
    This position focuses on the Finite Element analysis of soft tissues,
    ligaments, and joints. The qualified applicant will be responsible for developing a
    FE model of the knee joint and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The
    applicant must be able to collect experimental data to be used as input (initial and
    boundary conditions) and validation for the model. Once validated, this
    model will be used to predict the force as well as the stress and strain
    distribution in the ACL.
    Qualifications: M.S. with extensive FEM experience is required. Ph.D.
    in Mechanical or Bioengineering is preferred.
    Skills:
    * Extensive experience in the development of FEMs
    * Must interact and work well with a team that includes research
    engineers, graduate students, and clinicians
    * Strong communication and leadership skills
    * Highly motivated
    Location: The Musculoskeletal Research Center (MSRC) was established
    in 1990 for the purpose of developing integrated programs on orthopaedic
    education and research. The MSRC is a flourishing enterprise where engineers,
    biologists and clinicians get together with the help of a dedicated staff, to
    guide and teach qualified students and research fellows.
    Start Date: Immediately
    Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience
