  • Re: Skin Impedances in Kids

    Hi Kevin
20 kohms may be fine depending on the input impedance of your
amplifiers i.e. should be a 1% ratio between skin/input impedance.
See Winter's chapter in Kumar and Mital "EMG and Ergonomics"
    1996 Taylor and Frances Publishers.

    Hi List,

Has anyone had any experience with high skin impedance when
    measuring
surface EMG in kids? We're testing 10-12 yr olds at the moment
    and I'm
having very little success lowering the impedances below 20k
    without
aggressive de-braiding (which I want to avoid). We are measuring
    impedance
with a non-polarising meter and I have found precedence where
    only alcohol
was used for preparation (However, impedance was not reported).
