The award winning Manufacturing Engineering Centre (MEC) has an international reputation for its leading-edge research in advanced manufacturing and information technology spanning a broad spectrum of subjects. Over the past five years the Centre has secured over £25M in grants and contracts. It has successfully received major grants from the EC, EPSRC, Welsh Assembly and Welsh Development Agency and offers specialised services to industry across the UK.
You will be involved in projects and development of innovative techniques in the area of manufacturing engineering. You will be expected to spend a considerable amount of time working closely with Wales Small and Medium size Enterprises on technology demonstration projects and feasibility studies. With a PhD or equivalent experience in one the following areas: Reverse Engineering and Precision Measurements, Micro-engineering and micro-fabrication, Medical Applications of Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping, CAD/CAM and CNC machining, you must have the ability to demonstrate and apply Advanced Manufacturing Technologies to wide range of product development and production problems.
Salary: £19460 - £35883 per annum
All posts are available immediately and are for a fixed-term period of one year with the possibility of extension for another 3-4 years.
