  • HELP: rib cage/thoracic dimensions

    Dear Biomch-L subscribers

I am searching for information on human rib cage / thorax
dimensions, preferably information on the geometry (each positioning of
ribs - the degree of inclination of each ribs). Most of the data I have
found did not report the positioning of the each rib (or simply reporting
the movement of the rib cage in normal breathing etc). Also, I would like
to know apart from radiography, CT, X-ray methods, is/are there any other
methods on how to measure the 3-D geometry of human ribs (for example using
reflective markers ). I would like to perform clinical experiments on
volunteers using reflective markers as there are no radiations.
These geometrical data will be used as input data in the FE model for crash
    simulations.

Any suggestions, replies are very much appreciated. Thank you for your
    attention.

    best regards
    Rachael
