    The College of Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
    (UWM) seeks faculty (Asst./Assoc./Full Professor) in support of
    research and new graduate programs including a Ph.D. in Health Sciences
    which emphasizes collaboration and multidisciplinary teams of
    researchers.

    The College of Health Sciences is one of twelve Schools/Colleges at UWM
    which is a doctoral research-extensive university situated just a few
    blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan in a wooded residential
    neighborhood. The campus has over 26,000 students, and offers 20 Ph.D.
    and 47 masters degree programs. The College actively engages the
    greater Milwaukee community through its teaching, research and service
    activities. Milwaukee is a city of culture, with summer festivals, arts
    and architecture, theaters, professional sports teams, and lively ethnic
    and civic traditions. The health care industry as our partner,
    comprises the single largest private employer in Southeastern Wisconsin.


    Multiple faculty positions in each of the following areas are being
    sought as an investment to enhance current strengths within the College.
    Positions are nine-month, full-time, tenure/tenure-track faculty
    positions with opportunities for support during the summer. We seek
    individuals with the ability to establish extramurally-funded research
    programs, and prefer applicants with evidence of post-doctoral
    experience or equivalent, and demonstrated records of research, grant
    writing, and scholarship. All positions will have primary
    responsibilities for developing active research programs and teaching at
    the graduate level, with opportunities to interact or provide
    instruction at the undergraduate level.

    Diagnostic & Environmental Health Sciences: Applicants for faculty
    positions in this area will hold a doctoral degree in the biomedical
    sciences or related areas which may include biochemistry, molecular
    biology, microbiology, immunology, epidemiology or biostatistics, with
    research interests pertaining to human or environmental health and the
    pathogenesis and prevention of human disease. Responsibilities include
    teaching and supervising graduate students and enhancing and expanding
    existing multidisciplinary and highly collaborative research programs
    relevant to disease prevention and the health of people in Milwaukee and
    the state of Wisconsin.

    Nutrition &/or Exercise Psychology: Applicants for faculty positions
    in this area will hold a doctoral degree in one of the following
    disciplines: exercise/health psychology, nutrition, nutritional
    biochemistry/epidemiology, public health, or related areas that promote
    health and wellness. Responsibilities include developing coursework and
    providing instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well
    as providing oversight in the College's nutrition certificate program.
    Additional responsibilities include assuming an active role in the
    stimulation of interdisciplinary research that bridges the gap between
    science and practice to promote health and wellness.

    Rehabilitation Sciences, Neurosciences, & Disability & Design:
    Applicants will hold a doctoral degree in a discipline related to either
    the rehabilitation related professions, design professions such as
    engineering or architecture, or health-related disciplines such as the
    applied neuroscience, biomechanics, or related social sciences.
    Additional responsibilities include enhancing existing programs with a
    translational research orientation that addresses improving the lives of
    people with disabilities or enhancing quality of life through
    prevention, rehabilitation, or technology.

    Health Informatics: Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in health
    informatics, MIS or related field. At the assistant professor level
    applicants must exhibit the potential for establishing an active funded
    research program, whereas at an associate or full professor, this should
    be already demonstrable. Responsibilities include program planning and
    management, teaching, developing and maintaining an active line of
    sponsored research, and engagement in university, professional and
    community activities.
