FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science (nine month
tenure-track position beginning August 1, 2005)
Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in sports medicine/athletic
training, physical therapy, and/or biomechanics; research interests in
clinical biomechanics; ability to establish an independent research program
and collaborate with current faculty in research; evidence of scholarly
publications in peer-reviewed journals; and commitment to obtaining external
funding for research.
Desired Qualifications: Appropriate credential in physical therapy and/or
athletic training; university teaching experience; demonstrated ability to
obtain external funding for research; and post-doctoral training.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sports
medicine and biomechanics and other areas consistent with the candidate's
background. Establish a research agenda leading to publications in refereed
journals and to extramural funding. Advise and direct undergraduate and
graduate students. Participate in professional, university, and community
service.
University: Designated as a Carnegie Doctoral/Research Extensive university,
UT is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive institution of higher
education in Tennessee. Academic programs on the Knoxville campus enroll
approximately 19,300 undergraduate students and nearly 8,100 graduate
