Project Engineer
Primary Role:
Assumes responsibility for assignments in the development and design of new
products and tests all aspects of the mechanical components. Applies
knowledge of engineering principles to the design of products and is expected to
demonstrate a wide degree of creativity.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanical
Engineering or equivalent with 5-8 years of experience. Role is expected to have the
necessary knowledge needed to "take the initiative" and drive the program
tasks to a timely completion. Should demonstrate technical capability in
Planning, Organizing and Prioritizing of multiple tasks, as well as having strong
interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate an ability to learn and
apply new skills quickly. Demonstrate the ability to work in a team
environment.
Responsibilities:
· May act as the Project Manager or Technical Leader on a program.
· In conjunction with the Project Manager, Technical Leader or Principal
Engineer
participates in the overall definition of the project and or product
concept as well
as establishing the objectives, specifications, schedules, milestones,
costs,
budgets, etc.
· Assignments are of moderate to high difficulty and have strategic impact
on an
overall project.
· Creates and develops new ideas, designs, etc and proves its feasibility
through
review, analysis and evaluations. Helps to lead the project through
the various
steps of development to a successful and timely completion utilizing
Design
Controls (Design Input; Output; FMEA; Verification; Validation).
· Ensures that all documentation is complete and is in the proper form.
Maintains a sense of responsibility for design and documentation after
transfer to
manufacturing.
· Keeps design files, laboratory notebooks, etc. in good order and is
responsible f
for all project record retentions.
· Keeps customer in mind (internal and external) and works effectively to
achieve
team and organizational goals.
· Results oriented, self-motivated and develops new ideas and directions
Initiates, innovates and creates engineering applications.
· Continuously expands their technical knowledge.
