I am a 4th year Biomedical Engineering student in Portugal with an interest
in computer animation. I was interested in knowing if computer
modeling/animation software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya or Lightwave is ever
used in the research area of Biomechanics or medicine. The quality of these
softwares in terms of the realism of their graphics is phenomenal, but does
it have tools that model the physics, constraints and mathematical formalism
required to produce scientifically correct models of biomechanics (or can
tools be added to make them capable of it)?
Thanks
