spine products seeks a Senior Product Development Engineer to join their
organization.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will provide product development and project management expertise in
areas that directly impact business results. This position involves all phases of
product development from initial concept through product launch as well as
ongoing support for existing product lines.
In addition, acting as project manager of interdisciplinary project teams to
develop detailed product specifications from broad concepts, evaluate market
acceptance of new product ideas, identify and implement manufacturing
processes, and coordinate product launches. Evaluate the feasibility of resorbable
polymers and other non-metallic biomaterials for application to interbody fusion
devices.
The candidate will be expected to develop a broad knowledge base of a
specific spinal pathology and product line to support both the sales force and
surgeon customers. Close interaction with surgeon collaborators is required.
Also required is knowledge of CAD (Unigraphics) and structural analysis
techniques relevant to development of orthopedic and spinal products. Experience
with resorbable polymers, composites, or non-metallic biomaterials is a strong
plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
BSME/BSBME or MSME/MSBME is required with 4+ years experience in product
development of medical devices (orthopedics products preferred); Unigraphics CAD
experience is desired. Past experience should include a demonstrated record of
project completion from initial concept through product launch.
