I am a PhD student dealing with EMG and control applications.
I would like to pose a question to anyone who can help.
How can I measure EMG signal during:
"maximal voluntary isometric muscle contraction"
Isometric, as far as I know, means to keep the
limb (activated by the examined muscle) in
a constant position. Am I right?
So, for example, the procedure to record muscle activation
during maximal voluntary isometric muscle contraction,
from biceps brachii, is to impose a heavy load on somebody
forearm, and keep the forearm stable, while the person tries
to move it (elbow flexion) ?
Am I right?
Or have I misunderstood something here?
