Simpleware Ltd is pleased to announce our latest competition to identify
interesting applications using 3D image based computational models.
Simpleware Ltd provides innovative software and services for the
conversion of any 3D dataset (e.g. MRI, CT, Micro-CT, stack of images.)
into finite element and rapid prototyped models. The approach taken is
unique and proprietary and generates models of unparalleled fidelity
(http://www.simpleware.com ).
In order to showcase the benefits of our technology, the winner will
receive free conversion of an interesting/novel/fun 3D dataset into
finite element or CFD models. This will include all image
processing/segmentation work required.
Please note that models/meshes generated can include:
* Multiple parts (e.g. hip, stem, cup, cement ...)
* Contact surfaces defined at part interfaces
* Material properties of parts based on signal strength (e.g.
Hounsfield numbers)
Models exported are directly importable into ABAQUS, ANSYS, I-DEAS,
LS-Dyna3D, MSC.PATRAN/NASTRAN, and FLUENT.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be on a competitive basis and the criteria will be the
originality and/or usefulness of the proposed application.
Deadline
Please submit your proposal form by January 31st 2005.

Shortlisted proposals will be notified by email by the end of February
and will be asked to post data on a dedicated secure ftp site. Data will
be kept confidential and will remain the property of the entrant and
will not be used for any other purpose than to evaluate their quality.
The winning case study will be featured on Simpleware's website.
Participation
There are no restrictions about participation in our competition.
Applications can either be from commercial or academic groups.
