    Lecturer/Senior Lecturer
    (Two full-time and one part-time continuing)

    The University of Sydney
    School of Exercise and Sport Science,
    Faculty of Health Sciences

    The School of Exercise and Sport Science is a
    cohesive, scholastically excellent and proactive
    academic unit. The School is proud of its reputation
    in producing high calibre graduates, and of its
    identity as a national leader in research in the
    application of exercise science to sports performance,
    injury prevention, healthy ageing, health promotion,
    disease and disability prevention and treatment.

    Recently the School formed a partnership with the
    University of Technology Sydney and the Sydney Olympic
    Park Authority to establish the International Centre
    of Excellence in Sports Science and Management, an
    Australian Government initiative.

    The School is responsible for the B.App.Sc.(ESS) pass
    and with Honours, and the combined degree
    B.App.Sc(ESS)/B.Sc.(Nutrition). Postgraduate programs
    include the Graduate Diploma of Health Science (ESS),
    Master of Health Science (ESS) by Coursework, Master
    of Applied Science (ESS) by Research and Doctor of
    Philosophy in the area of exercise and sport science
    (ESS).

    The School is seeking applications from academics with
    doctorates, or medical qualifications, in areas
    relevant to the field of exercise and sport science.
    Areas of particular interest for these appointments
    include:

    Clinical exercise science
    - Adolescent health
    - Physical activity and health
    Sports physiology
    Sports biomechanics
    Sports Nutrition (.5 continuing position)

    Preference may be given to applicants whose teaching
    and research expertise are in these areas. Applicants
    at all levels will be expected to be enthusiastic and
    experienced teachers, active and productive
    researchers and willing to contribute to the School
    administrative duties.

    Essential criteria for level B: Ph.D in relevant area;
    broad understanding of the exercise response, tertiary
    teaching experience and good communication skills and
    a demonstrated capacity for publication and grant
    acquisition.

    Additional criteria for level C: An established
    research profile with a strong publication record and
    evidence of grant acquisition and collaborative
    research activities; postgraduate research student
    supervision and experience in innovative curriculum
    development.

    Applicants must indicate the level of at which they
    are applying and selection criteria must be addressed.
