    XXth CONGRESS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF BIOMECHANICS
    29th ANNUAL MEETING OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF BIOMECHANICS

    Cleveland, Ohio, July 31 - August 5, 2005

    We are delighted to welcome you to Cleveland, Ohio, for the first
    combined meeting of the International and American Societies of
    Biomechanics. The meeting follows the best traditions of both
    societies, with attractive scientific and social programs. We
    especially encourage student participation, through affordable
    registration and housing, grants and awards, and tutorial lectures by
    leading scientists.

    VENUE AND ACCOMODATION
    The Congress venue is the campus of Cleveland State University, in
    downtown Cleveland. Accomodation is within walking distance, ranging
    from campus housing at $35/night, to various hotels starting at $58/night.

    SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
    The 6-day program will begin with four tutorial lectures, and the
    Wartenweiler Lecture presented by Dr. Bruce Latimer of the Cleveland
    Museum of Natural History. During the following five days there will be
    eight keynote lectures, as well as lectures presented by the winners of
    the Muybridge Award (ISB) and Borelli Award (ASB). There will be five
    parallel sessions with oral presentations and poster sessions on Tuesday
    and Thursday.

    SOCIAL PROGRAM
    The social program includes an opening reception on Sunday, a reception
    on Tuesday in the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, various tours on
    Wednesday afternoon, baseball (Indians-Yankees) on Thursday, and on
    Friday a banquet at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

    ADDITIONAL EVENTS
    On the evening of Aug 1st (Monday) there will be a pressure measurement
    workshop sponsored by Novel GmBH. In addition, there will be two
    student breakfasts hosted by ASB and ISB as well as numerous alumni
    gatherings throughout the week.

    The ISB/ASB 2005 Congress is accepting papers in all areas of biomechanics.
