  • Job Opening: Clinical Research Engineer

The Bone and Joint Center at Henry Ford Hospital is seeking a full-time
clinical research engineer. The ideal candidate will have a background in
biomedical engineering (or a related discipline). This individual will
coordinate research projects that represent collaborative efforts by Bone
and Joint Center faculty, clinical faculty, orthopaedic surgery residents,
and industrial sponsors. Specific responsibilities include project
planning, study design, IRB and IACUC protocol development, equipment
design, data collection and analysis, and manuscript preparation. A
Masters degree and relevant experience in academic or industrial research
    is desirable.

The Bone and Joint Center has six PhD investigators and three post-doctoral
fellows. The faculty includes two biomedical engineers, one mechanical
engineer, a cell biologist, an anatomist, and a biochemist. Research
interests within the group are diverse, but focus on understanding the
effects of disease, injury, aging, and repair on joint and tissue
function. Laboratory facilities include a mechanical testing facility, a
motion analysis laboratory, an electronics and machine shop, a biochemistry
and molecular biology laboratory, a cell culture laboratory, a
computational facility, a microcomputed tomography system, a scanning
electron microscope facility, a confocal microscope, and a histology
laboratory. The laboratory is associated with a large, research-oriented
clinical orthopaedics and rehabilitation department and Henry Ford Hospital
    Center for Athletic Medicine.

The position is available immediately and will be filled as soon as an
appropriate candidate is identified. Salary is competitive and based on
experience with an excellent benefits package. Interested and qualified
applicants should send a letter, curriculum vitae or resume, and names and
contact information for at least three references to the address listed
below. Henry Ford Health System is an AA/EO Employer.
