    School support more than
    30,900 students. The College of Health Sciences
    has 9 disciplines
    of study and approximately 1000 students enrolled in bachelors, masters,
    and Ph.D., degree programs. Additionally, the College contributes
    significantly to the University's national and international agenda
    through research, development, teaching, and service activities. It is
    housed in a new 212,000 square foot, $32 million state-of-the-art
    wireless research and education facility.

    THE POSITION

    The College of Health Sciences is seeking a person of vision with high
    energy and strong leadership skills to serve in this newly created
    position to support the College's continued advancement within the
    context of a top-level research university. The Associate Dean for
    Research will be an active member of the Dean's leadership team and will
    work collaboratively with individual faculty members, departments, and
    centers and institutes. This person will provide leadership in advancing
    the College's overall research mission and implementing programs to
    support externally funded research.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    * Earned doctorate in a related Health Science field and successful
    academic experience as a faculty member appropriate for appointment at
    the associate or professor level in one of the academic units in the
    College of Health Sciences
    * Current extramural funding with a history of consistent productivity
    * Exemplary record of research, scholarship and inquiry
    * Substantial experience with grant and contract funded research
    * Commitment to mentoring faculty and developing successful extramural
    funding for the research agendas of the College of Health Sciences

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


    * Successful experience in promoting collaborative and programmatic
    research across units or disciplines
    *Demonstrated record of organizational leadership in developing,
    managing, and sustaining a comprehensive program for funded research
    * Successful experience in promoting a culture that nurtures diverse
    forms of inquiry/scholarship
    * Successful experience with faculty development in research, including
    mentoring and technical assistance
    * Knowledge of pre- and post-award processes relating to funded research
