The Clinical Gait and Movement Analysis Lab at the
University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Department of
Physical Therapy is
seeking a full time Research Specialist in
Biomechanics. The research focus of the lab is
balance and stability during gait
among the elderly. The successful applicant will have
a minimum BS and 2 years experience or MS in
Mechanical Engineering,
Biomechanics, or related field. Experience with one
or more of the following will be given preference:
Motion Analysis
Realtime, AMTI force plates, surface EMG, Matlab,
Labview, and visual C++. The ability to work
independently, solve
problems, and pay attention to detail are essential
skills. Duties include management of lab resources
and projects, subject
recruitment, data collection, data analysis,
manuscript preparation, and training graduate students
on lab procedures and
equipment. Position available March 1. Salary is
dependent on experience.
