Job Title: Spine Research Associate
Location: Baylor Plano Scoliosis Center
Just North of Dallas, Texas
Educational Requirements: Doctorate Degree (bioengineering, mechanical
engineering or equivalent) plus two years post-doctorate
Candidates should have a minimum of two to four years post-graduate
experience in the daily management of a busy spinal orthopedic research
program. Basic abilities should include advanced statistics,
biomechanics and/or bone metabolism along with study design, data
collection, collation and interpretation. Experience in writing and
applying for research grants according to NIH study section guidelines
and preparing IRB and IACUC submissions is required. Working knowledge
of modern psychometric testing and data interpretation is desirable.
Experience in supervising multiple research assistants and providing
guidance to clinical investigators is also desirable. Candidates should
have a proven record of written, published and presented works in
refereed forums and interested in working within a larger research
institute. Their knowledge of standard lab practices as well as
bioethics in humane and proper treatment of research animals are minimal
requirements.
