Dear all
a QUALISYS user group meeting will be held as part of the
forthcoming "Biomechanics of the lower limb in health, disease and
rehabilitation" conference.
The conference is September 5-7th 2005 and hosted by the Centre
for Rehabilitation and Human Performance Research, University of
Salford, England.
Registration and call for abstract information is available at:
http://www.healthcare.salford.ac.uk/crhpr/biomech2005.htm
There are 6 keynote presenters and 3 full days of presentations:
Dr Richard Baker, Dr A.J. (Ton) van den Bogert, Professor Peter
Cavanagh, Dr Stefan Hesse, Professor Garth Johnson, Professor
Marco Viceconti,
1) Dr Richard Baker, Hugh Williamson Gait Analysis Laboratory,
Royal Children's Hospital, Victoria, Australia
"Clinical gait analysis: the search for patients with abnormalities
bigger than our measurement errors"
2) Dr A.J. (Ton) van den Bogert, Department of Biomedical
Engineering, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA.
"Computational modeling: a scientific basis for prevention of lower
extremity injuries"
3) Professor Peter Cavanagh, Department of Biomedical
Engineering, Lerner Research Institute, The Cleveland Clinic
Foundation, USA "The biomechanics of bone loss during manned
space exloration"
4) Dr Stefan Hesse, Free University Berlin, Germany "Gait training
after stroke - past, present and future"
5) Professor Garth Johnson, Centre for Rehabilitation and
Engineering Studies (CREST) University of Newcastle upon Tyne,
UK.
"The EU- SPASM Project - towards agreed definitions and
measurements of spasticity"
5) Professor Marco Viceconti, Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli, Italy
"The Biomechanics European Research Area: current status and
future developments"
There will be four Hot topic sessions.
Session 1) " Advances in gait laboratory technology and
techniques” - markerless motion capture, gait data prediction,
reducing skin movement artefact.
Session 2) " Real-world gait assessment” – Textile based sensors,
wearable motion, force, pressure sensors, implantable systems, in
shoe systems, motion capture in the built environment.
Session 3) " Simulation of gait” – Chaired by Dr A.J. (Ton) van den
Bogert – computer based simulations of gait and lower limb
biomechanics.
Session 4) " SPASTICITY” – Workshop led by the co-ordinators of
the EU funded support action “SPASM” - The overall objective of
the SPASM project was to establish best practice in measurement
of spasticity based on current knowledge and research in Europe.
For registration, accommodation details and to get onto the mailing
list please see the web site.
