The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), created in 2000, is becoming an important source of funding for biomechanics in the United States.
NIBIB has published a draft version of its first 5-year strategic plan (2005-2009). The Institute is inviting comments regarding NIBIB's "scientific emphasis, operational emphasis, and strategic priorities."
The draft plan and details on how to comment are available at http://www.nibib1.nih.gov/about/SP/strategicplan.htm.
Comments are due by February 28.
