    We are pleased to invite you to our next Meditech Meeting in Belfast, hosted by Prof John Orr, Queens Univeristy Belfast.

    Title: "Emerging Technologies in Medical Polymers: Theory and Applications"

    Date: 7 - 8 June 2005

    Location: Medical Polymers Research Institute (MPRI), Queen's University Belfast.
    Fee: £120 (including coffees, buffet lunches and Tuesday's Banquet)



    Description:

    This joint MPRI/MediTech meeting will include invited speakers from researchers and industry, contributed papers, posters and displays of new innovations and developments in medical polymers. The invited speakers are:

    Prof. John Orr (MPRI, Queen's University Belfast)
    Dr. Sam Evans (Cardiff University)
    Dr. Paul Tomlins (National Physical Laboratory)
    Prof. David Jones (MPRI, Queen's University Belfast)
    Prof. Brian Meenan (Northern Ireland Bioengineering Centre, University of Ulster)

    A banquet dinner in Malone House in Belfast is included in the fee.

    * Bioactive coatings, cell adhesion and biocompatibility
    * Drug delivery systems
    * Biodegradable polymers
    * Stents, catheters, biomarkers
    * Tissue engineered and medical implants
    * Biodynamic chambers, mechanical stimuli, micro-CFD
    * Reconstructive polymers and skin substitutes
    * Mechanical performance, durability, fracture and fatigue

    Abstract submission:

    If you wish to make a presentation, then please email a 100 word abstract of your proposed presentation/poster to Andrea Gartner at gartnera@cf.ac.uk Industrial and commercial organisations are particularly welcome. Presentations should be 20 minutes long including questions and be presented in MS Powerpoint format. The deadline for abstract submission is 17th May 2005.
