Dear All,
In the light of me moving on from the Oxford Gait Laboratory, an opportunity
has arisen for an experienced Clinical Scientist/Engineer to join our team
to manage the technical operation of the gait lab.
The Oxford Gait Laboratory provides regional and national clinical gait
analysis services based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre which is renowned
worldwide for its orthopaedic treatment. We have an active research
programme with strong academic links with the University of Oxford and
Oxford Brookes University. The laboratory is fully equipped with a 12
camera Vicon 612 motion capture system, two AMTI forceplates, a plantar
pressure platform, surface and fine-wire EMG instrumentation and a Cosmed
breath-by-breath pulmonary gas exchange system.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can apply engineering and
scientific principles and knowledge to advance the clinical service as well
as inspire and lead research. The role will include service planning and
development, overseeing the technical operation of the department,
supervising staff and trainees.
The successful candidate will have an Engineering/Science honours degree, a
post-graduate degree in a relevant field and be eligible for State
Registration. They will have experience in Biomechanics related to movement
analysis. They must be able to demonstrate sound management skills and be
comfortable projecting service developments. Experience in running formal
research and development projects is essential, ideally with a proven track
record in successful research grant applications. Further experience in
teaching/lecturing, and abstract/journal submissions would be an advantage.
