JOB OPENING:
MUSCULOSKELETAL RESEARCH CENTER
DEPARTMENT OF BIOENGINEERING
UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH
Job Position: Post-Doctoral Position: FEM and Robotics
Description of Position:
The Musculoskeletal Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh
is seeking a qualified applicant to fill an available research
position.
The candidate will be responsible for leading and directing a
research team under the direction of a senior faculty member that
studies the biomechanics of the ACL. The team consists of graduate
students, research fellows, and clinicians. The overall goal of this
research team is the detailed elucidation of the contribution of the
ACL, including in situ forces and kinematics, to the intact knee, as
well as the evaluation of various ACL reconstructive procedures and
ACL replacement grafts. The work is done using a combined
experimental (robotic technology) and computational approach.
The candidate should have experience with finite element modeling,
specifically with the analysis of soft tissues and joints. The
position will involve the development of finite element models of the
knee joint and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Bioengineering.
