Monitoring GRF during community ambulation

A colleague wishes to measure GRF during community ambulation and other repetitive weight bearing activiites. It is the intent to create a sensor(s) that would record only the GRFs that exceeded a certain programmable value, say two times body weight. Does anybody know of a simple relliable technology to utilize that would work for this. Or does anyone know of studies that have involved the recording of GRFs during community ambulation or over long periods of ambulation. Thanks in advance
