    Post-doc in Biomechanics

Department of Human Movement and Sport Sciences

    Istituto Universitario di Scienze Motorie

We are seeking two highly motivated individuals for two post-doctoral
fellowships at the Laboratory of Biomechanics in the Department of Human
Movement and Sport Sciences of the University Institute for Movement Science
in Rome, Italy. The focus of the laboratory is the biomechanical analysis of
human movement in both the sports and rehabilitation fields. Ongoing
research includes methodological studies on joint kinematics and kinetics
using stereophotogrammetry, the development of methods for biomechanical
data processing, the assessment of motor performance of individuals at risk
of disability, the study of internal disturbances to the maintenance of
upright posture, and the biomechanical analysis of sports activities with
    special attention to gymnastics.

Requirements of the positions are the completion of a PhD in biomedical
engineering or a related field (or an equivalent three-year experience),
proficiency in computer programming, excellent communication skills, and
research experience in a field related to the ongoing work of the lab. The
net annual income is about €15,000. The post-doc position is for a period of
one year. The positions remain open until the appropriate candidates are
    chosen.

The Laboratory of Biomechanics is fully equipped with a 9-camera VICON real
time motion capture system, a 6-camera SMART motion capture system, 5
six-component force plates (Bertec and AMTI), 2 three-component force
plates, a PowerLab data acquisition system, and several dynamometers and
accelerometers. Electromyography equipment is available at the Human
Physiology Laboratory within the same department.

Interested candidates are kindly requested to send a recent copy of their
curriculum vitae and two letters of reference to:
