Research Faculty/Post Doctoral fellowship in computational implant
biomechanics
An opening is available for a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of
Denver in the area of computational implant biomechanics. Qualified
candidates will also be considered for Research Faculty appointment within
the Department of Engineering. Excellent post-doctoral salary available,
including benefits. The position is funded for three years. Review of
applications is ongoing and will continue until the position is filled.
Fellowship requirements include:
1. PhD degree in mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering
2. Knowledge of finite element analysis and proficiency with commercial FE
codes. Experience with custom code development and/or custom scripting of
commercial FE packages preferred.
3. Knowledge of knee and hip biomechanics
4. Proficiency with programming languages (C,C++, Python)
5. Proficiency with probabilistic methods, multi-body dynamics simulation,
and/or nonlinear optimization techniques would be considered advantageous
6. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills required
PhD assistantship immediately available in computational implant
biomechanics
The computational biomechanics lab is currently seeking a motivated student
to pursue a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering at the University of
Denver. The research focus is finite element modeling of knee implant
mechanics. Students with experience in FE methods and commercial codes,
knee biomechanics, multi-body dynamics, and probabilistic methods are
especially encouraged to apply. Tuition, health insurance, and a
competitive stipend are available.
To apply for either position, please email a curriculum vitae and brief
statement of research interests and experience to Dr. Paul Rullkoetter at
prullkoe@du.edu. Please feel free to email for further information.
