Sources for sports research funding

Does anyone know of any sources of sport research funding in the UK for
independent (non university) researchers?

UK Sport, Sport England are not coming up with anything. Google isn't
giving anything either. The sport is Badminton but the IBF cannot think of
anything and trying to get help from Badminton England is not likely to come
up with anything.
