  • Postdoctoral Fellow - Human Postural Control

A post-doctoral position is available in the University of Maryland
Cognitive Motor Neuroscience Laboratory under the direction of Dr.
John Jeka. The successful candidate will participate in extramurally
funded research that examines human postural control and multisensory
integration in healthy individuals and patient populations with
balance disorders. Opportunities exist to interact in collaborative
research with engineers, mathematicians, physical therapists,
kinesiologists and neuroscientists who specialize in motor control,
biomechanics, motor learning, modeling, neurorehabilitation, and
    reflex function.

Applicants should have a recent doctoral degree in physical therapy,
biomedical engineering, biomechanics, kinesiology, neuroscience or a
related discipline. A record of research in postural control,
neuromuscular systems, motor control, biomechanics, or neuroscience
is preferred. Laboratory experience with biomechanical measurements,
electromyography, motion analysis and virtual reality is advantageous.

College Park is ideally situated between metropolitan Washington, DC
and Baltimore. The area offers unique opportunities for
collaborative activities with federal laboratories and agencies as
well as a number of other research universities. The University of
Maryland is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women
and minorities are encouraged to apply.

Qualified candidates should forward their curriculum vitae and three
    references to:
