Thirteen Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships
(Endeavour IPRS) will be offered through the University of Sydney.
An Endeavour IPRS scholarship provides tuition fees and is available to
individuals from the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East wishing to
undertake postgraduate research studies. The studies undertaken must be in
areas identified as part of the University current and emerging research
strengths.
Applications are assessed on academic merit and research potential. In
addition to the Endeavour IPRS, the University of Sydney awards
International Postgraduate Award (IPA) to Endeavour IPRS holders. The IPA is
a living allowance/stipend scholarship awarded to all Endeavour IPRS
holders.
Appropriate areas of research in Biomechanics and Motor Control in the
School of Exercise and Sport Science are biomechanics and motor control of
children's activities (relationships among coordination, dynamic stress and
growth, development and the prevention of injury), biomechanics of
functional activity in the elderly (functional tasks in health and
pathology, generally, but especially the effect of increased levels of
activity on cartilage health and osteoarthritis). The sports of rowing,
running, golf, cricket, and track and field are also foci of research
interest in the School but may have less chance of funding.
