  • Postdoctoral Fellowships in Simulation at Stanford

    POSITIONS OPEN
    Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow
    National Center for Biomedical Computation
    Department of Bioengineering
    Stanford University

The National Center for Physics-Based Simulation of Biological
Structures (http://simbios.stanford.edu/) is seeking applicants for
two Simbios Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships. Simbios, part of
the Bio-X initiative and located in the James Clark Center at
Stanford University, is funded by the National Institutes of Health
to build a biomedical-computing infrastructure. Our center's mission
is to apply physics-based simulation to biological problems of
relevance to human health and disease, and to exchange methods,
models, and data with other researchers, a mission supported by our
growing software infrastructure SimTK (simtk.org). Initial
biological problems include RNA dynamics, myosin mechanics, and
neuromuscular biomechanics. We are searching for energetic,
outstanding individuals in the area of physics-based simulation to
study the dynamics and function of biological structures. The ideal
candidate will have independent research skills, a strong background
in simulation, and will make significant contributions to the Simbios
National Center. Applicants should send a letter containing a
statement of interest, curriculum vitae, copies of one or two
representative publications, and complete contact information for
three references, to SimbiosSearch, Clark Center Mailcode 5448,
Stanford University, Stanford, CA 94305; or via electronic mail to
    simbiosjobs@stanford.edu.
