    LABORATORY MANAGER/CHIEF ENGINEER

    Baylor Motion & Sports Performance Center



    The Baylor Motion & Sports Performance Center is seeking to hire a
    full-time laboratory manager/chief engineer. The Motion & Sports
    Performance Center is under the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at
    Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The laboratory is
    very well equipped with a 12-camera Vicon MX-40 Motion Capture System, 3
    AMTI Force Platforms, 10-Channel Motion Lab Systems EMG System, and
    novel EMED and PEDAR Plantar Pressure Measurement Systems. The
    laboratory has a very busy research and clinical patient volume with
    approximately 300 patients tested every year. The laboratory also has
    an increasing sports component with current collaborations with USA
    Track & Field and a PGA Instructor for elite golf swing analyses.



    Major Responsibilities:

    * Maintain/run all laboratory equipment, including
    modeling/analysis software development
    * Supervise student projects, surgical and research Fellows,
    laboratory interns, and staff
    * Responsible for IRB collaborations with respect to research
    project submissions, annual renewals, project modifications and adverse
    event reporting.
    * Develop and implement independent research projects resulting in
    publication in peer reviewed journals, in addition to developing and
    writing grant proposals for government agencies and private industry
    * Develop and coordinate interdisciplinary projects with team of
    physicians, research scientists, exercise physiologists, therapists,
    coaches, and fitness center staff



    Minimum Position Requirements:

    * Master of Science in Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or
    related field with a minimum of 3-5 years experience with motion capture
    and analysis in a research and/or clinical setting
    * PhD in Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
    with some relevant experience in motion capture, preferably with a
    post-doc in a motion analysis laboratory
    * Excellent computer knowledge in all Microsoft Office software,
    in addition to Adobe Photoshop and Premier
    * Computer programming skills in LabView and Vicon BodyBuilder for
    creating custom modeling and analysis programs
    * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    * Track record of publications and some grant writing experience
    preferred
