Department of Physical Therapy


The Department of Physical Therapy invites
applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track
position available at the Assistant Professor level
beginning September, 2006. The Department of Physical
Therapy offers the entry-level Doctor of Physical
Therapy (DPT) and recently moved into a new
state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building located on
the Spokane River in downtown Spokane. Diverse
opportunities for collaborative research and teaching
with other departments from Eastern Washington
University and other local universities are available.
The city of Spokane, located in the Inland Northwest,
has been rated 2nd in the nation for having the best
summer weather in the nation. Recreational, social,
and cultural opportunities are numerous.

Candidates with a PhD are preferred, however
candidates with ABD will be considered. For ABD
candidates, all requirements for the PhD must be
completed by November 1, 2007 for continued
employment. Candidates must be eligible for physical
therapy licensure in the state of Washington and will
be expected to teach courses in or related to the
Neuromuscular Practice Pattern and team teach in
clinical research courses. Teaching in other areas of
interest is available. Research in the candidate’s
area of expertise is required and service to the
university is expected.

Candidates must submit a letter of application,
current curriculum vitae, and names of three persons
who can be contacted for references. Review of
candidates will begin January 2006 and will continue
until the position is filled. The successful
candidate will be required to pass a background check,
and show proof of eligibility to work in the US
pursuant to US immigration laws.
