Title: Post Doc in Clinical Gait and Movement Analysis
Laboratory
Location: University of Illinois at Chicago, USA
Date: October 18, 2005
POST-DOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE
Clinical Gait and Movement Analysis Laboratory,
Department of Physical Therapy,
University of Illinois at Chicago
A post-doctoral position has recently become available
in the Clinical Gait and
Movement Analysis Laboratory of Clive Y.-C. Pai, PhD,
at Department of Physical
Therapy, University of Illinois at Chicago. The
successful candidates will participate
in extramurally funded research that determines
dynamic stability against slip-related
perturbation during walking and the underlying
mechanisms for adaptive strategies,
using advanced engineering techniques and computer
model simulations.
Opportunities exist to interact in collaborative
research with engineering and
neuroscience faculty who specialize in motor control,
motor learning, orthopedic
biomechanics, modeling, and automatic control
engineering.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in biomedical
engineering, biomechanics,
electrical or mechanical engineering, kinesiology,
neuroscience or a related discipline.
A record of research in experimental design, analysis
of multi-segment human
movement, laboratory experience with biomechanical
measurements,
electromyography, and motion analysis is useful.
Experience in Motion Analysis
Realtime, AMTI force plates, surface EMG, Matlab,
Labview, and visual C++ is
necessary. The abilities to work independently, solve
problems, and pay attention to
detail are also essential skills.
Salary is negotiable, and commensurate with
