Research Fellowship
The Mayo Clinic Biomechanics Laboratory in Department of Orthopedic is pleased to announce the opportunity for post-doctoral research fellowship sponsored by the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research (NCMRR) and/or National Institute of Health (NIH). Specifics of the fellowship include:
* Eligibility:
Ph.D. or M.D. with experience in muscle function, physiology, or Biomedical Engineering.
Candidates for NCMRR must be citizens of the United States.
* Duration of Training:
Two years with possible extension to three years.
* Research areas:
An opportunity to: (1) develop disciplined research skills in the environment of an established, well-recognized biomechanics laboratory and (2) use these skills to develop independent research with a mentor. The research begins with a current biomechanics laboratory project called Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE). Areas emphasized in this track include muscle biomechanics, image processing, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and movement disorders such as those associated with stroke, disuse atrophy, hyperthyroid or myofascial pain.
