Dear Dr. Dobson, dear Mr. Salmasi,
I'm also interested in mechanical properties of muscle tissue especially
in transversal direction (cross fiber).
Please can you give me the referenece of the book you mentioned
(Dietrich et al.)?
Do you have other references dealing with mechanical properties of
activated muscle tissue?
I've found an article dealing with soft tissue properties (there are a
lot of futher references to other authors):
Vannah WM, Childress DS.: Indentor tests and finite element modeling of
bulk muscular tissue in vivo.
J Rehabil Res Dev. 1996 Jul;33(3):239-52
They give Young's moduli between 10 kPa and 200 kPa (cross ref.).
Best regards
