    Assistant Professor - Bioengineering

    The Colorado School of Mines (CSM), a pre-eminent Engineering and technology
    University located in beautiful Golden, Colorado is seeking a tenure-track
    Assistant Professor in Bioengineering.

    We're looking for candidates who are interested in working in a
    multidisciplinary team environment of top students, faculty, and clinical
    and industrial partners. A research and teaching specialization in one or
    more of areas of modeling; design/optimization; natural or artificial
    biomaterials; and/or nanotechnology is most desired. An appointment in the
    Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Colorado at Denver and
    Health Sciences Center is possible, where appropriate.

    The Division of Engineering at CSM offers an ABET accredited,
    non-traditional, baccalaureate degree in engineering, together with
    interdisciplinary M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in Engineering Systems. An
    undergraduate Bioengineering minor was recently established at CSM and a
    graduate program is being developed. The successful candidate will be an
    integral part of this developing program. The Engineering Division and BELS
    have strong ties with University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences
    Center, as well as with local industry.

    Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach
    undergraduate and graduate courses in Bioengineering as well as one or more
    of the traditional disciplines of Mechanical Engineering. Active
    involvement in the CSM Bioengineering and Life Sciences program is expected
    as is interaction with other faculty in the Division of Engineering and
    across campus. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to
    conduct externally funded research and advise undergraduate and graduate
    research in Bioengineering.

    Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biomedical
    Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
    Preference will be given to those with whose research in biomedical
    engineering includes one or more of the following areas: modeling,
    design/optimization; natural or artificial biomaterials; nanotechnology.
    The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent teaching skills, a
    record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, and demonstrated success
    in, or potential for, securing extramural research funding. Candidates must
    also possess superb interpersonal and communication skills and a
    collaborative style of research and teaching.
