    Research Assistant- Stanford Movement Disorders Center



    Start Date: January 2006



    Job Details:

    Research in patients with movement disorders (such as Parkinson's disease,
    Dystonia, Tremor) based on measures of fine, limb, and axial measures of
    motor control. Elements include data collection, analysis, statistical
    comparison, and assisting with manuscript/grant writing. Job also includes
    data collection and patient testing during clinic and intra-operative
    monitoring 1-2 days per week.



    Desired Skills:

    Research experience in Biomechanics and/or Motor Control. Superior
    organization and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be able to take
    initiative but also work with a team of people. Background with clinical
    research and Human Subjects/HIPAA compliance is desirable. Basic computer
    skills including spreadsheets, database entry, presentations, statistical
    packages, and WORD are necessary. Familiarities with relational database
    programs and/or programming/MATLAB experience are desirable.



    Education:

    Bachelors or Master's degree in biological sciences, computer science, or
    engineering sciences necessary.
