A three year position is available as research fellow salary starting at spine point 7, (c £27K) to work with Prof. Robin Crompton (Liverpool), Dr. William Sellers (Manchester) and Dr. Steve Mills (Nottingham) on development of a finite elements model of footprint formation, applied to reconstructing the gait of the makers of the 3.6 million year old Laetoli footprint trail, under a grant from The Leverhulme Trust.
Candidates should have at least a Master's degree and a background in finite elements analysis or computational mechanics. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of anthropologists, engineers and computer scientists.
Start date from January 2006-Oct 2006.
