A three year position is available as research fellow salary starting at spine point 7, (c 27K) to work with Prof. Robin Crompton (Liverpool), Dr. William Sellers (Manchester) and Dr. Steve Mills (Nottingham) on development of a finite elements model of footprint formation, applied to reconstructing the gait of the makers of the 3.6 million year old Laetoli footprint trail, under a grant from The Leverhulme Trust.
Candidates should have at least a Master's degree and a background in finite elements analysis or computational mechanics. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of anthropologists, engineers and computer scientists.
Start date from January 2006-Oct 2006.
