    Position: Research Scientist - Bioengineering

    There is an opening in the Rehabilitation Engineering Analysis
    Laboratory (REAL) for a talented engineer/bioengineer. The laboratory
    conducts research in rehabilitation medicine with a range of projects,

    including studies focused on understanding and treating neuromuscular
    disabilities and frailty. We seek an experience individual with
    expertise in biomechanics or biomaterials to join the REAL as an
    investigator on a variety of projects in musculoskeletal
    rehabilitation. The position involves providing leadership to the
    bioengineering technical staff; pursuing new technologies as related
    to ongoing REAL studies; developing areas for research funding,
    grant proposal writing; and producing quality publications and
    presentations. A faculty appointment will be made at the University of

    Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the New Jersey Institute of
    Technology commensurate with level of experience and previous
    academic rank. Candidates must have a PhD in Biomechanics,
    Biomaterials, Biomedical engineering or a related field and a minimum
    of 2 years research experience in Bioengineering.

    Minimum Requirements:

    * PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,
    Biomechanics or Biomaterials;
    * Have a strong engineering background suitable for
    rehabilitation engineering research;
    * Be capable of independently leading new research projects;
    * Familiarity running instrumentation-based research protocols;
    Experience in structural modeling or material testing is desirable.
