ASSISTANT RESEARCH PROFESSOR
The Center for Rehabilitation Neuroscience & Rehabilitation Engineering (RNRE) seeks an assistant research professor to participate in on-going research in neurological disorders, to initiate new research projects, and to teach/direct undergraduate/graduate student research.
Required: PhD in Bioengineering or a closely related field.
Desired: educational emphasis on neurological disorders; extensive knowledge of nonlinear dynamics with an emphasis on the application of techniques from chaos theory and fractals to neuronal and biomedical data toward understanding neural control systems and neuromotor dysfunction; experience: investigating postural and locomotion control mechanisms in people with neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease and spinal cord injury, in grant writing, and in guiding/supervising students in research projects, interacting with medical doctors and carrying out experiments with human subjects in a clinical atmosphere; knowledge of numerical methods and strong programming ability in MATLAB, FORTRAN and C.
