LABORATORY ENGINEER
Baylor University Medical Center

The Baylor Motion & Sports Performance Center is seeking to hire a
full-time laboratory engineer. The Motion & Sports Performance Center
is under the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Baylor University
Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The laboratory is very well equipped
with a 12 cameras Vicon MX-40 Motion Capture System, 3 AMTI Force
Platforms, 10-Channel EMG System, and an EMED and PEDAR Planter Pressure
Systems. The laboratory has a very busy research and clinical patient
volume with approximately 300 patients tested every year. The
laboratory also has an increasing sports component with current
collaborations with USA Track & Field, a PGA Instructor for elite golf
swing analyses and baseball pitching.
Major Responsibilities:
* Maintain/run all laboratory equipment
* Assist in all IRB collaborations with respect to research
project submissions, annual renewals, project modifications and adverse
event reporting.
* Assist in writing publication in peer reviewed journals, in
addition to developing and writing grant proposals
* Work on interdisciplinary projects with team of physicians,
research scientists, exercise physiologists, therapists, coaches, and
fitness center staff
Minimum Position Requirements:
* Master of Science in Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or
related field
* Excellent computer knowledge in all Microsoft Office software
* Computer programming skills in preferable (LabView, Vicon
BodyBuilder or other language for creating custom modeling programs)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
